UGA Chemistry Building Renovations

Modernizing Legacy Labs for Today’s Learning

Phased renovation of the University of Georgia’s Chemistry 1001 building revitalizes the 1970s-era wing across six levels, enhancing nearly 30,000 square feet of instructional and support space. The project modernizes teaching labs, classrooms, offices, and restrooms while upgrading the HVAC system from a two-pipe to a four-pipe configuration for improved performance and comfort. A resource-conscious approach reused and relocated lab casework and classroom furniture from adjacent campus buildings, complemented by new finishes, lighting, and plumbing fixtures to create a cohesive, contemporary learning environment.
