Emory Midtown Emergency Department Renovation

Expanding Emergency Care Without Missing a Beat

Through the interior renovation of 9,017 SF within the existing footprint of Emory University Hospital Midtown, May Architecture was able to facilitate the expansion of the existing Emergency Department.

The design team coordinated 3 phases of construction which allowed the existing emergency department and surrounding departments to remain completely functional through the construction process. With the completion of this project the Emergency Department was provided with an additional 24 new exam rooms, a new CT imaging room, new staff locker/lounge areas and appropriate support space to support their increased capacity.

The project included a behavioral health component with roll-down shutters to cover and protect med gases and other components from tampering.
